I've had a 400P since around 2004 (could be longer). Its so old that the air filter isn't located in the same place as the newer ones. I use this compressor to service our car tires and those on my motorcycles. After six plus years, the 400P still works like a champ and pumps just as fast as it did when it was new. It has never done anything other than fill up anything I've hooked it up to - quickly.

picked this compressor up for $179 + tax and it works great. i was able to air up 5 33" tires from 30 psi to 40 psi in under 2 minutes each, then was able to immediately air up my wife's SUV tires without any problems with heat. I have used the Viair 440P before but the extra $120 dollars was too much for me. The carrying case and extra filters that are included are nice touches. would recommend to anyone that airs down for off roading or for use around the house with pool floats etc.

This portable air compressor is exactly what its description says it is. Very high quality and it works well. i've used it several times off-road. My tires are 35" off-road Mud/Terrain and they inflate quickly after i've aired them down for sand and mud. i've also used it in the garage to air up my motorcycle tires. The coiled air hose expands nicely...though in the cold weather it is not as flexible...but that's to be expected. If you're looking for a good capacity compressor, this one's a good choice.

Used this thing several times already and I love it. I have 33" tires at the moment and go from 17psi to 35psi on all 4 tires in like 10-15min (rough guestimate as I was taking my time between tires). Faster than some gas stations I've been to. Unit did get warm/hot but has never overheated. Last fill was in 100 degree desert heat.
