The towel is a real towel, which I loved! It's is thick enough to actually absorb the water with out completely soaking yourself in the process. I think the wash clothes are too thick, also, one side is completely unusable for washing purposes, but good for pure asthetics.

We bought severl of these towels and they all fell apart after about 2 times in the washer. The hood has come off of one completly and the others have holes where the seems have come apart. I would go with a different towel.

This is not a very soft towel against baby's skin. I put this towel on my registry because I thought the argyle looked cute. However, after just one wash, the argyle hood shriveled up and looked very wrinkly. I recommend you spend the extra money for a Swaddle Designs bath towel. You get what you pay for.
