DO NOT BUY THIS MIXER-TOTAL JUNK Apr 18, 2011
By Sue Clark I purchased this mixer this past Xmas for my daughter. I couldn't quite manage the cost of a KitchenAid and thought this might work until I could save up for what she really wanted. What a total and complete disappointment. The mixer sparked and blew up 2 months after purchase. I've used Sunbeam mixers before and they were great, but they were also much older ones. If this represents the "new" generation mixers, they can keep them, don't bother opening the warehouse door. I also paid extra to have this pile of junk "giftwrapped", boy was that a joke. The "gift wrapping" consisted of shoving the beat up box into a crummy looking bag made from a nasty blue color burlap looking fabric, not even red or green. All things considered, I have to say that this was the worst service and product I've ever received from Amazon (Hey Amazon, are you hearing this? Listen up.) I felt so bad for my daughter, she was so happy to get her mixer, unfortunately, it didn't last at all. So, now we try to find her something that will last a while anyway, it sure isn't going to be anything Sunbeam makes though.

Just as good as the big K.. and money left over for shopping Dec 14, 2010

$79 vs $300 .. for 350watt of power; this mixer does exactly what I need it to do, mix.. handle heavy cookie dough and its a stand mixer with power that has a pretty look for my new kitchen. and a 1 year warranty. What's not to like. Talk about getting More bang for the buck. I'm thrilled to have this product. Just in time for the holidays. now I have $200 bucks to spend on xmas gifts.

Rusty Beaters Apr 27, 2011
By Brady Beaters began rusting after first washing. Sunbeam Customer Service said they would send replacements under warranty, but sent dough hooks by mistake. Called back, and had them send the correct part. A few weeks later, received replacement beaters: they are 3/4 of an inch shorter than the originals and won't mix contents in the bottom of the bowl. Called Customer Service again. Their response: "Sorry they don't work for you, but those are the only ones we have." After one washing, they're rusting, too. "Caveat emptor."

Imported junk. Oct 30, 2011
By bossysahum SUNBEAM MIXMASTER 350 watts
At first I would give it 4 stars. it mixes batter well enough (you have to us a spatula if you add the dry ingredients first) to scrap off the bottom but it mixes well
It mixes doe barely adequately but you need to manually help mix the ingredients at first with a spatula and as always you must scape the bottom
I can only give it one star- indicative of more imported junk- A waste of wires and plastic and whatever value there is in being a consumer good per se- a manufactured item and not junk made to break so your $100 is down the toilet like your money is nothing.
Maybe making cookie doe was too much for the machine It is made of such cheap parts internally that neither the doe hooks nor the beaters stay in the machine They simply do not lock in any more. You can still blend but the beaters rest on the bottom of the bowl. And they make an awful clanging sound and it begins to shear off metal dust into your mix- you can see it.
What I began to do is criss cross string around the top of the doe hooks and beaters and tie the string off (twine works or maybe other string that does not shed) around the body of the blender. After this, everything works good as new.
PROS: 1. Lock in bowl 2. Doe hooks and beaters. 3. Powerful motor with many speeds from slow to super fast.
CONS: 1. Does a poor job mixing thick does and certainly needs manual help with a spatula with does when it first gets started or it will not mix the ingredients. 2. After only relatively few uses, neither doe hooks nor beaters stay in the stand blender.
CONCLUSION: This stand blender simply was not up to the task. I buy something for it to perform a function, not sit on the counter for show. It mixes cookie doe only with manual assist. Having to tie in the beaters doe hooks is completely unacceptable (you must be kidding).
It made a half way decent mixer and barely adequate doe mixer at first until the cheap parts it was made of failed after a surprisingly brief period of time/few uses
-another imported electrical appliance/electronic which for most users, is destined for the junk heap- a waste of plastic and material . . . and money. I suppose you have to pay upwards of 300 for a stand mixer that is engineered to both work and last.
This blender stands for the following proposition: "your money is to flush down the toilet on joke import home appliances"
I can only give 1 star because it is not normal to have to tie your bender together with sting.
Sunbeam's bread makers are better than their stand mixers, they need to go back to the drawing board with this one.

I really love this thing Sep 20, 2011
By Army Wife I am so surprised that so many people do not like this. I bought this solely to make fondant. I got tired of kneading with my hands and getting really sticky so I wanted something to do it for me. I really, really wanted the Kitchen Aid mixer but I could not see myself spending over $200 for it. Anyway, this does the job. It mixes all my fondant ingredients well to the consistency I desire.I use the dough hooks to mix my fondant. It does not get stuck at all. I have had this for a month now and have used it several times. To make sure my ingredients are mixed, I alternate between the mixing of the inner and outer switch. Well worth the money!
