 Great configuration for a great price Sep 15, 2011

I've had a Stamina Products AeroPilates Reformer in various configurations for a good 15 years now and this particular model with the elevation stand, taller Cardio-Rebounder, wide foot-bar, and all the other accessories is the best you can do without going to a true professional model or more expensive brand like Stott. There is a new 5-cord model available but, from reviews I've read, it has some quality issues that may be worrisome. The stand is not part of its package, nor is the neck pillow, which together would add about $150 to the price. I will state, however, that the newer videos which came out in 2010 are somewhat better than the old ones which came in this package. If someone is interested in an even lower price than this, they may wish to check the Stamina Products website, where refurbished equipment can be purchased, including this same set-up, with free shipping. All in all, this configuration is a close to perfect as it gets as far as I'm concerned. The longer, wider sliding carriage is well-padded and comfortable. I added two red power cords which give me all sorts of resistance levels up to 6 cords. Amazon sells them and they provide a great, inexpensive way to expand this reformer. If you're in to reformer Pilates as opposed to floor Pilates, this is definitely the machine to purchase.

Putting this together was a breeze for me. However, due to my height (5'3"), I had to remove the bumpers at the bottom, which worked out well. I'm glad I did so because I needed the extra washers from the bumpers to add to the top wheels because they were spaced too far inward on the rails and the platform kept falling during rebounding, and I'm not a heavy girl(125). After adding the washers though, it works great. A very solid workout. My abs were killing me for two days after my first use! Not a super quiet ride (the wheels have a small "grumbly" noise as I move up and down), but not so bothersome to the point of annoying. :) I'm using my iPod during workouts now that I have the hang of it and know the pace of the DVD's and I don't hear a thing. I do recommend ordering the additional Aeropilates DVD's offered on Amazon as they are more professionally and more recently made. The ones that come with the reformer seem to be a copy of something previously made on VCR and then copied.

The AeroPilates machine is a hit with me. I used to teach TaeKwonDo, then I retired some years back. After not working out for a few years it became apparent that my body was crying for some kind of program to get me back into shape. The workout and the easy to follow video is just what the doctor ordered. If you are looking for good muscle tone and flexibility without going to the gym then the AeroPilates 700 is for you.

I bought this after taking classes with an Allegro reformer and while this is nowhere near as good as an Allegro, it's an excellent subsitute. In order to switch out the rebounder with the footbar, you have to unscrew some bolts and there's no way to push the footbar forward, it stays in one position. The DVD that comes with it is a great DVD except that the instructor is not using the same reformer, but, that's not the end of the world. Also, I am 5'7" and I've found it to be a little short, but really it's probably ok for me, but would not be if I was a little bit taller. Lastly, I will tell you that you'll find muscles you didn't know existed!

Absolutely love this reformer! I have taken class instruction and this reformer is fantastic. It was easy to put together and I was surprised at how smooth it is. I am already addicted and I will use it everyday! I can't wait to start seeing results. What a fun workout! I put my music on and went to town on the rebounder. I actually broke a sweat, but didn't feel exhausted afterwards. I had more energy! Love, love, love it! Best investment ever! So glad I didn't buy a gym membership, this is way better!
