First box wouldn't open...new one's fine. Oct 19, 2010

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1V5GXFRF401L I needed this box quickly, and was disappointed that when it arrived, it wouldn't even open! Completely unusable. There was no visible damage to the packaging, so it seems to be a production issue. Several other units for sale on Amazon mention metal not being lined up correctly, but not the case with this one. I'll update this review after I have received another one...I'm hopeful that they will resolve the issue.
UPDATE: For some reason, they'll take the box back, but wouldn't send another one automatically! So I guess in a few days they'll refund my account, and I can order another one. Amazon's return process is amazingly smooth...print the paperwork, include it in the box, and check the box to have a cute UPS dude show up at my front door to pick up the box. Nice! I'll give Amazon 5 stars on this one, but not sure why getting a cash box that works is so difficult...
NEW UPDATE: Cash box arrived after I ordered again. It works fine. The bill holders don't automatically engage when the lid is closed, so you have to remember to push them down before closing the lid. Otherwise, works fine!

We run a crepe cart and catering business at farmers markets and events. We used to just use a bank deposi bag, but in the flurry of things making change and keeping track of bills became a mess and cost time I could be making crepes.
We looked in the office supply stores and online. Some are very expensive - crazy - the point is to kepp our bills, not give them to the cashbox people. It also got here incredibly fast without extra shipping charges.
This box works just fine. I don't know why others have had problems with rivets or whatever, but we keep about $30 of quarters and uses the other parts of the top tray for business cards and misc. Having the spring clips for the bills is good as things don't slide around too much while in transit.

For the $ spent it's a great little cash boxx for bills 1's, 5's, 10's & 20's. It has clips to keep the bills in place and the bills sit deep in the box at the bottom. The change compartment has ample room but gets hungup on the lid when closed. I had to break the two rivots that attach the change drawer to the lid to get it opened. It still functions on the swing arms. The manufacturer needs to make the change compartment about 1mm shorter with a tab to prevent this from happening.

When I received the cash box the top would not open as noted by the video reviewer, however by utilizing a very small amount of logic, I surmised that the coin tray had shifted in shipping. With a gentle tap on a firm surface to the back of the box the coin tray shifted back and the box opened freely and easily and has never failed to open since. The box is sturdy and I use it daily for cash receipts in my retail business. The design and functionality for the price cannot be beat.

I'm part of my son's school PTA. We always put on functions, whether it is a fundraiser or a social event, we always need cash boxes. I purchased 3 of these boxes and love them. You can have the bills separate and safe from flying away. The change is out of your way. These work out perfectly for our events. I'd recommend this cash box to everyone!!
