Pretty as the picture! Jun 29, 2010

In the age of pressboard and particle wood, it's rare to find solid wood furniture that's affordable for average incomes. But this is the real deal...I received the desk in a timely fashion, in excellent condition, with very easy assembly (just had to screw on the legs), and it looks just as gorgeous as the photo.
I ended up having to email customer service about the file rods, which seemed too long to insert without scratching the wood. They responded promptly and courteously with a specific person to call. WThat person, Richard, was very friendly and patient and talked me through the process of trying to remove the drawer. When my ignorance won out, Richard very kindly offered to send different rods that might be easier for me to insert. Imagine that...he wasn't responding to a defect in the product, but to my own personal difficulty with assembly!
A couple things to note...the hand carved pulls are a bit shallow for my tastes, but they function fine. Also, the dividers in the drop down section are not part of the actual desk, but a separate part. In all, this is a great statement piece that's worth every penny in quality and functionality, with exceptional customer service to boot.

This secretary desk is beautiful... compact... all wood. I use it for my laptop. I can use a dining room chair when I am on the computer... no need for a big desk chair. The carved wood is a handsome addition to my living room/dining room. It was easy to assemble... just screw the legs onto the cabinet. I sit at the desk by my glass doors and watch my goats in their pasture. I'd recommend this piece of furniture to anyone wanting a place to use their laptop or write out bills/letters. I can place the laptop on its side and close the door up when not using the secretary.

This is a lovely piece of stand alone furniture. It took all of 10 minutes to assemble. I only had to screw in 4 legs. The rest is all one piece. It's relatively small and does not accommodate all of my office needs; however, it looks striking in my living room corner. It is also not a very heavy piece but the hand carving is beautiful. The interior organizer is perfect for envelopes, bills, pens, etc. The lower drawer accommodates either letter or legal size file folders. I am quite happy with this purchase.

I was looking for a small piece to organize a few items that added to the clutter on my kitchen counter. I needed a piece that was not deep but had drawers, cubbies and was attractive. This was perfect. I read all the previous 5-star reviews and took a chance. I have to admit I was a little worried that the carving would be too ornate, but it was perfect. Simple, sweet and exactly what I was looking for. Everyone comments on it and some want to know where I got it.
