great balance bike Jul 01, 2011
By chu bought this bike last summer for my then 2 year old, she was able to use it right away. Easy to assemble and very good quality. It went through a whole year, and she is still using it now and she is 3 1/2, and 39 inches tall. All we had to do was raise her seat. This bike has been left out in the rain, and is still great. I am now going to order another one of these for our youngest daughter to ride.

Research other models Oct 28, 2011
By Razzle First of all, parts were missing from our package (screws and axel rod), so we couldn't complete assembly of the bike. Contacted the manufacturer for replacement parts. We had emailed each other over a span of 4 weeks only to receive screws and Allen keys. Re-contacted the manufacturer for the axel rod, a week passed and got no response. Had to contact Amazon to fix the situation (by the way, thanks Amazon!). Secondly, the seat comes pre-assembled to the base. The screws were SO tight that when I tried to loosen the screws (in order to adjust the seat height), I stripped the threading of the screws. So after adjusting the seat height, I wasn't able to fully tighten the screws. I've purchased a different brand before and it was never this hard to put the bike together. The only reason I got this one was because my daughter wanted a pink balance bike. Would have been easier to buy the other brand and painted it pink myself.

Great for kids learning to bike! Jul 31, 2011
By NicoMtl This bike, like others of its kind (boys may prefer another color... ;-) ), is great for kids learning to bike: It allows them to learn to keep their balance without having to worry about pedaling. Our just-5 years old is having great fun with it and I am confident she will move on to a real bike next year.

Not the best design Feb 05, 2012
By Hans Fugal The wood is nostalgic and the carrying handle is nice. But I haven't been impressed overall.
My daughter is 2 1/2 years old now, and I had given away the Mini Glider my now-4 year old son had learned on. We picked this one up for cheap used, and although its construction is fine and it looks neat, its design falls short.
1. The seat even on its lowest setting was a tad too high. I drilled some holes, problem solved.
2. Even with my own holes, the bike is much more upright in style, compared to the more "cruiser" style of the Mini Glider (and especially the Go Glider, which my oldest son used at age 5). This may make balancing harder, I'm not sure.
3. There is nowhere for the child to put her feet, except on the ground. On the Mini Glider he was coasting after a couple days, but I don't see how anyone could comfortably coast with this bike. I plan to attach some pegs on the front forks where she can put her feet.
If you find one used and cheap and you're handy with wood, this will work fine. It still beats training wheels, I'm sure. But if you're buying new I'd say go with the Mini Glider or one with a similar design.

to big and bad quality Apr 29, 2011
By tp2969 I got that bike for my 2 year old daughter. I did not buy it over Amazon. The rear axle was not well made so I did not trust it to last very long. The wheel was tilting. When I was tightening the bolts so it would stop to tilt the wheel would not rotate free. The minimum seat height of that bike was 15 inch instead of the 13 inch stated in the manual of the manufacturer . My daughter is in the 75 percentile for the height but that seat height was way to much for her. I doubt that there is even a lot of 3 year old who could use that bike. For me this experience is one more proof that it is not worth it to buy cheap products. If you want quality you have to invest more money...
