Replaced by big fridge May 01, 2007
By K. Mehan I live in a small cottage, and my full-size refrigerator bit the dust. Since I already have a small chest freezer, I decided that it was time to downsize my refrigerator. Almost everything that fit in the refrigerator compartment of my full-size fridge fit in this little thing--in a lot less space! I love that it doesn't have a freezer--as the freezers in these little things tend to be a waste of space. I think this is a great little fridge, and it looks great too!

a piece of junk Jan 06, 2009
By herbgrl I originally purchased the Sanyo SR-4912M refrigerator in November 2007. Ice collected on the back of the refrigerator and ALL my food froze. Since there is no authorized repair company in my area, Sanyo replaced it with a new refrigerator which worked fairly well for about 7 months. I bought a digital thermometer with an inside probe so that I could obtain a more accurate reading (I checked the accuracy of the thermometer with other thermometers and refrigerators). The temperature fluctuates from the 20's F. to the 50's F. and freezes my food. The highest safe temperature for a refrigerator is 40 F. The Sanyo rep at 800-421-5013 said that it is in the 50's when it is defrosting. I challenge that the auto defrost cycle should take 4-6-8 hours--if this is how the Sanyo refrigerator functions, then they are putting food in the danger zone for bacteria to grow and cause food poisoning. I was informed that the warranty on the original refrigerator has expired and, therefore, this replacement refrigerator has no warranty coverage, except for the compressor. The Sanyo rep could not understand why I am upset. Since I now have had two (2) Sanyo SR-4912M refrigerators, and neither of them has functioned adequately, I think this speaks volumes to the lack of quality and DANGER TO HEALTH of this refrigerator. Obviously, I do NOT RECOMMEND this refrigerator. If possible, I would give it NO stars.

Sanyo SR-4912M Kegerator Apr 01, 2009
By D. Logcher

I bought this fridge from Best Buy for $179 onsale. I drilled a hole down the top center and mounted a two tap tower. I removed the door shelves and replaced it with plexi-glass. I can now fit two 5 gallon cornelius kegs and a 5lb CO2 tank in the fridge. Works great and runs quietly.

Best compact refrigerator I've seen Feb 26, 2008
By C. Keeney and I've seen a bunch of them. I just bought this fridge at Best Buy ($209.00 plus tax) and I love it. I purchased it to replace two Magic Chefs that never worked. This fridge is super quiet and it is very rooomy. The door is made to hold a gallon container, but I can put two half gallons of milk and two quart size containers in only ONE bottom door shelf. So that still leaves the shelves in the fridge and the other two small shelves in the door to put stuff. It got cold really fast too. I am so happy with this purchase!

Confused appliance Dec 24, 2008
By Nard This appliance is confused. The problem is it can't make up its mind whether it wants to be a refrigerator or a freezer! This refrigerator, when it works, does not maintain temperature well. After trying to adjust the temperature numerous times it either freezes or barely keeps its contents cold. After less than two years the thing barely cools at all, even when set for the minimum temperature.
