Better than KidPix Dec 28, 2008
By atticgirl We bought this for our daughter for Christmas as a replacement for her KidPix which no longer worked on our home computer (Vista, enough said.). This program has so many more options and appears more updated than KidPix. It's the same idea but seems like it has more choices. You can choose between crayons, markers, paints, etc. There are hundreds of art images and you can be as basic or advanced as you want to be. I even enjoy playing with it. My daughter is just starting to learn the many things this program can do but she has already spent more time with Crayola Art Studio than she did the entire time she had KidPix. It is a great program with a lot of potential.

Excellent graphics program for children. Much better than KidPix. Feb 27, 2009
By Jerry Saperstein This program is fun! Much better than KidPix in every way.
Large set of options for each of the 12 tools will keep kids (and grownups) occupied for hours. The 1,000 templates are contemporary. The stamp art is plenty of fun all by itself.
A simplified screen makes it suitable for really young kids, say about three, if you feel brave enough to let them near a computer.
Overall, this is an extremely well designed program that is much more than a "toy". It is a real paint program, with a really well done user interface that makes it easy for kids to dig in, be creative and have fun.
Crayola and Core are to be congratulated on their sensible licensing: you may install this on any number of computers as long as it is used on no more than one at a time.
For the price, you simply can't beat Crayola Art Studio. It is great fun and very versatile.

A lot of fun Feb 25, 2009
By Motherof 6 My children and I have enjoyed this greatly. Would highly recommend this to anyone. There are various art tools that look very realistic. The colors blend together just as they would if you were using real art tools. There is a simplier screen that can be selected for younger ones that has fewer tools for them to use. If you have any coloring pages from off the internet, you can also cut and paste them in for the children to color. It is simple to use like Paintbrush on Windows yet a lot better.

Crayola Art Studio Jun 20, 2009
By J. Kirkley This is a good software package, however, I bought it to replace the Disney Magic Studio that we had and it is a little advanced for my 4 year old. My 12 year old enjoys it much more. I still prefer the Disney Magic Art Studio since it has cool sounds, great effects and many different tools, characters and palettes.
I have the software on my computer and from time to time I go into it and play around as well.
All considered - good fun!

Great for little artistic minds! Aug 23, 2010
By Rooster's Mom We purchased this product this product after my 6 y/o son continually wanted to use my graphic design computer programs and would get frustrated after a few minutes of use. The "paint" program on our computer was too simple for him, and he wanted something more like what he uses in school. Voila! This program was everything we were looking for for him. It's perfect for school-aged kids, but I do think younger ones (3-5) would like it, too, with parental assistance. It allows him to free-hand draw in great detail with a variety of media and has a great color palette. He also likes the stamp function and the fact that you can color in the pictures. I like the fact that you can save the images as jpegs and transfer them to other print programs to create cards, posters, t-shirts, etc. with your child's artwork. The only two drawbacks that I have found so far are that the preloaded graphics are somewhat limited. For example, there is a section with "girl" related items but my son was disappointed that there wasn't a section for boys. Also, both the preloaded graphics and the images that your child draws can't be enlarged or shrunk (at least not that I have found yet), and the freehand images can't be copied. Although these are probably more advanced functions, they would have been useful to have. Overall, however, a great product!
