4He loves it  Mar 22, 2004

Our little boy picked this out at TRU. He had to have it, and we gave in since it was the first thing he had ever really picked out on his own. He enjoyed it in the beginning, but, now that he is 22 months old, he loves it. He is constantly scooting it around the house and driveway. As of yet, we have not had any problems with the horn as others have mentioned. We also did not have any problems with him being able to straddle it. He has played on it since before he was a year and still does at 22 months. I would recommend.

3Disappointed  Jul 26, 2004
By Beach Mom of 3 "Kay"
This toy is more of a nostalgic collector's piece. It is heavy & unmaneuverable. It'll go straight but doesn't really turn. Keep it indoors or the bright shiny surface will quickly become dull and faded. I guess the best part is the little squeeker horn. Still ... the boys (now 18 & 20 mos) sit on it all the time and have learned to make it go with their feet on the patio outside. Most of the time they sit on it and push the button (horn) to make it toot! If I had to do it over again - I wouldn't buy this toy!

3Not a great ride-on  Oct 26, 2004
By Toddler Mom
My daughter likes to ride on this car and beep the horn, but we only use it inside. I tried taking her outside on it once, but it is so unmaneuverable that I gave up. Radio Flyer seems to be good at wagons, not so good with other wheeled toys (a friend has a Radio Flyer tricycle that is top heavy and tips over constantly.)

12boyz mommy  Feb 22, 2004

I bought the Red Roadster for my first son for Christmas when he was 15 months. He is now 3 1/2 and has never really used it other than as a seat to sit on while waiting his turn on one of our many other ride-on toys when friends and cousins are over to play. Our younger son just turned one and also has no interest in it other to stand next to it and honk the horn. Both boys love to ride on various Little Tike, Step 2, and Fischer Price Trikes and Ride-on toys that they and their friends own. This toy was my first choice because of its nostalgic look and was more "mature" looking ( no primary colored plastic parts) but I have really changed my opinion on what is the best value for the dollar. The metal body is heavy and hard to manuever. It is hard to steer and the rear wheels ride up on my son's heels when he tries to push with his feet. And the hard wheels and weight of the body makes even a grown man yelp in pain when it runs over a toe. It also causes more damage to walls, parked cars, peoples shins etc. when toddlers try to manuever too closley. Lightweight plastic toys are much more user friendly for this age group ( even if they are not as trendy)

4First Choice Coming in the Door  Nov 23, 2004
By Opa
Grandson #1 heads right for this car on every visit. Grandson #2 (who lives farther away) will be getting his own this year. Good toy for starter training any saddle riding sport (trikes, bikes, horses). Won't tip over. The limited steering radius makes this suited as an indoor toy.
