An Excellent First Bike Choice Jul 23, 2002
I had purchased the Radio Flyer All-Terrain Tricycle, but it was poorly constructed, and had to be returned. This bike was suggested as a replacement, and it is wonderful! My 4 year-old has no trouble stopping or steering (as he did trying another "big boy bike.") He loves to ride "super-time fast" and feels so proud of himself.I strongly recommend this as a first time bike. The training wheels ride smoothly on the ground, providing as much security as a trike. The bell is fun, and the classic red looks can't be beat. The seat and handlebars are easily adjustable, and can accomodate a larger child (mine is 44 inches and growing...)

Awesome Bike! Nov 04, 2004

We helped my son save his money and helped him buy this bike nearly three years ago. The poor thing has been sorely abused and the original tires are nearly bald but the thing still is in good shape. I cannot think of another toy that has seen so much daily use. A great little bike!

Freedom Express Mar 21, 2005
By Park Mom I just finished a three-mile loop on a bike trail with my 3 1/2 year old. He was riding his 12" Radio Flyer Bicycle with training wheels and I either had to walk as fast as I could or jog to keep up with him. It's the first time I've exercised with him without having to push a stroller or tricycle and we both had a great time. The bike is beautifully geared, very easy for him to pedal and brake, and everyone comments on how great it looks...no cartoon character tie-in, no bad race car graphics. It was a little expensive when the shipping was factored in, but I'm glad we went for a good quality bike.

Heavy Apr 24, 2007
By Sanjay S. Magavi This bike suffers from a variety of flaws. Firstly, it has no brakes. Secondly, it literally weighs more than my adult bike. If it falls on your kid, they are going to be hurt. 3 year olds, at the top end for 12 inch bikes will have trouble moving this bike. Thirdly, the tires are solid, not air filled. The ride is harsh and the tires don't grip like real rubber tires do, so starting and stopping are more frustrating than they need to be. At this age a bike only needs to be safe and fun to ride. This bike is only fun to look at, not to ride.

nice, but not so durable Jun 19, 2002
By Blue Jean girl My son got this for Christmas and loved it, but after just 5 months of normal play from a 3 year-old, the spokes on the tires all began to fall out. We tried to get them back in, but had no luck. Soon, the spokes became entangled with the bike's chain and would cause the chain to fall off. I took this bike to my local bike repair shop and they could not fix the spokes. I have written the company and am awaiting a reply. I recently visited a toys-r-us store and I looked at this bike on display in the store, and it too had some loose spokes. I would not recommend this bike.
