5Awesome Wagon!!!  Apr 07, 2010
By M. McGaha "Shillelagh73"
I had been drooling over this wagon for months, probably before our twins were even born, so when we started brainstorming for a 1st birthday present for the babies, the storm didn't last long. This was a definite go-to gift, and it did not disappoint. The babies absolutely love their wagon. I can tell from their apparent joy that they choose this one well over their stroller, and their parents love it, too.

First of all, there's the UV protection canopy, which comes in really handy in the Georgia heat, which is already starting up now in early Spring. Secondly, I like the padded seat covers and the seatbelts, although I'd prefer that the seatbelts be of the five-point variety rather than the three-point type that come with the current model. The seat covers add comfort and the seatbelts obviously provide safety. What else can I say? Oh, that the backs of the seat covers have little pockets: one seat cover has two cell phone pockets and the other has a single, larger pocket for whatever you can fit in it (sunglasses, sunblock, taser, etc.). Thirdly, there's the fact that there are so many configurations with the seats. You can fold them both down to use the wagon as, well, a wagon--to carry stuff in or give the baby(ies) a place to nap. If you have just one kid in it, you can leave one seat up and fold one down for a little desktop. And there are several other options as well. Then, there are the large drain holes in the bottom to prevent messes or to keep your children from using the wagon as a canoe to escape from you. The drain hole feature isn't described anywhere online or elsewhere that I can remember, but I immediately recognized how important this feature would be, due to the messy nature of children (not necessarily because I fear my children are plotting to run away...or float away in this case). Also, I really like the no-tip handle, which is attached to the wagon body and not the wheel axle like the old wagons we had when I was a kid, which would explain all the head injuries back then (that and the lack of helmets). Then, there's the awesomely huge storage bag attached to the back, which is really impressive. I don't remember the description on the website really emphasizing how huge this thing is and the fact that it rests on an aluminum frame for extra support. You can load an entire picnic in it, or just use it to smuggle a third kid into the park. And finally, there are a million cupholders on this thing! OK, there are really only four, but the fact that there are two up front for Mommy and Daddy (or other significant other) and two for the kids in the cargo area (with drain holes in the bottom) is brilliant.

If you're considering getting this type of wagon, with all the choices and configurations out there, you definitely want to strongly consider this one above all others. You're not going to find as many bells and whistles as this one and the price on this one, here at Amazon, which was $155 at the time I bought it, can't be beaten, either. I checked extensively online, and this is about as cheap as you're going to get, so go get your kid(s) one. They'll thank you for it, and you'll thank yourself, as well.

5Best Wagon. Period.  Feb 16, 2010
By Happy Grandma "Happy Grandma"
I bought this as a gift for my grandson because at 3, he's just getting too big for his stroller. His mom and dad like taking him out and he can't keep up with everyone if he walks and gets antsy in a stroller. The size of this is just perfect and he'll be able to sit in it for a long time. He likes riding in it because he feels like a "big boy" and not like a baby...his words! There's a nice detachable canvas bag for snacks and juices and could easily double as a diaper bag so that moms won't have to bring anything extra. It's big enough for him to share when he has a baby brother or sister as there are 2 seats. The seats are padded and the pads are removeable for cleaning. The seats even fold flat for a tired child to lay down and nap. Also, the seats can be arranged to face each other or for both children to face the same directin. The removable canopy is a nice touch and easily detaches from the wagon if it's not needed. My daughter and I put the wagon together right out of the box in less than 15 minutes so I know it's not difficult! Buyers need to realize that this wagon is LARGE! It cannot fit into a standard-sized trunk. A mini-van, truck, or SUV is needed in order to transport this wagon. I had looked at all kinds of wagons from wood and steel to heavy duty plastic. This wagon was very maneuverable and easy for this grandma to pick up and put into our SUV by myself. But my grandson (and his folks) just loves it and that means everything to me!

5Big hit!  Sep 10, 2009
By B. Jen
We purchased this wagon as a gift for our daughter's second birthday. We looked at many wagons and read many reviews, trying to find the best fit for us. It came down to this wagon and the Radio Flyer All-Terrain Steel and Wood Wagon. We ultimately chose this one for the shade cover and the seatbelts. We also thought that the attached storage would be good for long outings, and that the washable padded seats were a nice touch. And we haven't been disappointed. Our daughter LOVES this wagon. Outside, inside, all the time. Our older kids are having a blast giving her rides everywhere, and when they're at school, she likes for me to fold down the seats and make her a little bed. We even took it to the mall for a shopping trip! Ever since she started walking, the stroller is her worst enemy, but riding in the wagon is a treat instead of torture for her. I can't wait to take it to the fair and really test it out!

A couple of things to be aware of, though. This thing is big. Really BIG. We can fit it in the back of our minivan on it's side (shade down, obviously), but there isn't much room left over. I don't know how it compares to other wagons, but you definitely don't need to worry about it being too small...unless you're looking for something for an older kid. The seats are only 6-7" deep. Perfect for the toddler and preschool set, but a little small for a school-age kid. And we were missing a few pieces of hardware out of the box. I know Radio Flyer will send them right out, but still, it's an inconvenience.

But overall, we're very happy with our purchase. Especially the 2 year-old!

4Sturdy and comfortable, but not "ultimate" because of the plastic tires  Jan 19, 2011
By bellaricca
The size of this Ultimate Comfort Wagon wasn't an issue for us as we have an SUV, but make sure to check dimensions if that is important to you - it is pretty big. I was so glad I read some of the reviews on here because I took the advice of someone mentioning to read instructions CAREFULLY before putting the wheels on because if you end up doing that before you put the storage compartment on, then you are SOL, because those wheels are not coming off. Love taking my son on walks around the neighborhood with this wagon. So many people just seem to stare at "Big Red" that it's almost embarrassing, and sometimes I feel like my little guy should be on MTV's Pimp My Ride. It was a tough decision between the ATW and this one, but we decided on this because it had the different seat positions and the canopy and not just a flatbed. Only giving it 4 stars because my biggest gripes are: 1) the seatbelts are merely lap belts and not the 5-point system and 2)the wheels are plastic. For the price, I wished Radio Flyer made these with the rubber air-filled tires for a "true" comfortable wagon. I'm still scratching my head why Radio Flyer chose not to make them, although they do offer other wagons with the rubber tires.

5Not your grandfather's radio flyer! (:  Oct 24, 2009
By Autumn
I was waiting to see more reviews before purchasing this wagon. My only regret is that I did NOT purchase it sooner! The wagon was fairly easy to assemble (though it took me about an hour). I called radio flyer customer service and I was quickly transferred to a live person who was very helpful and kind. This wagon is very comfortable and spacious. My 15 month old loves it!! Plenty of space for my toddler, toys, snacks, beverages and other goodies. The cushions are not as soft as I thought they would be, but they are a nice touch. The safety belts are a must since my son likes to climb. Fortunately, he enjoys the ride so much that he usually doesn't try to climb out. The storage space is expansive! (pockets on the back of the seat cushions, storage bin in the back of a seat, huge foldable storage bag, and plenty of leg space and toy space in the wagon itself. This wagon turns very easily without tipping. The wheels allow for a quiet ride. The canopy comes with a storage bag and folds nicely. This wagon is HUGE and takes up all of the storage area in our SUV (without the canopy). It was great for toting my tot around the zoo and I am looking forward to using it for more excursions.

This wagon is the best! Two thumbs up and 5++ stars!
