Great Chalkboard! Apr 21, 2011
By KD We are very pleased with this chalkboard. The chalk appears so bold and the writing is so smooth. It is actually fun to write on! We use it daily for messages and notes. Skip the cheaper versions and get this porcelain chalkboard!!

Chalkboard Apr 21, 2011
By P. Morris This chalkboard is exactly what I was looking for. No priming just start writing and the chalk writes nice and smooth on the surface, also erases easily. This is the way I remember chalkboards. Would recommend!

no seasoning required Aug 16, 2011
By John The chalk board works very well, I read several reviews and this one seemed to have positive remarks. I have no complaints with it and my wife uses it all the time, we have it hung in the kitchen to write notes for market day.

A real chalkboard Oct 26, 2011
By Craig This is a very nice chalkboard that does what it is meant to do well. It has weight and substance and reminds me of the old fashioned chalkboards. Writing on it is a pleasure.
Mounting!?! Dec 30, 2011
By Cman This is a very nice chalkboard. The writing surface is very smooth. The aluminum frame is very sturdy, and there is even a slice of aluminum behind the porcelain. There is a built in chalk holder. I like built in chalk holders better than attachable, but others may not. The chalk holder is not deep enough to lay erasers flat, you have to lay them on their side, and some fall over. The good porcelain chalkboards had deep chalk holders in which the erasers could be laid flat. This chalkboard is the perfect size for an announcement board or a board to put in the front of a store, but the chalk holder cannot come off, and those types of boards usually don't have chalk holders attached so customers won't write on the board. It wipes nicely with water, after being erased. It doesn't erase as well as "fake" chalkboards, but it erases fine. My main problem was how hard it was to mount it. This board took me more than an hour to mount. It is very hard to calculate where the screw holes should go on the wall, plus you have to drill your own holes in the aluminum frame, which is hard, and can damage the porcelain. Just as long as you can mount this board correctly, you should be fine. If you don't mount it correctly (which is easy to do), every time you write on it, the board will shake.
