1Useless as delivered  Jan 24, 2011
By KL
Doesn't hold. Bought it as replacement for original clip that came with headset, but this one does not hold firm to the headset cord. The device "attaches" in two places. One clip is the alligator clip that attaches to your shirt, and that clip is great, works perfectly. But the part where the clip attaches to the headset cord is not strong enough to hold firmly to the cord. As a result, the headset cord slides throught the clip and the weight of the cord pulls the headset tight on your head, which is what the clip is supposed to prevent in the first place.

So IMO, absolutely worthless, as is. In order to get it to function, made one wrap of tape around the phone cord at the spot I wanted the clip to stay, then reverse wraped the tape so it stuck to itself with the sticky side out. Now the clip would actually grab. Not the end of the world and more trouble then it was worth to send back, so I didn't bother. But annoying that it didn't function out of the box.

2Needs Spring  Jan 12, 2012
By Cedric
The button isn't spring loaded so it doesn't hold the cord in nearly as well as it should. Really doesn't do what it's advertised to do. Probably need to pass this one over.

5Works exactly as hoped...  Jan 04, 2012
By Eduardo Nietzsche
Like the reviewer preceding, at first I was also frustrated that my headphone cord was still sliding through the wire holder as I moved. Then a burning bush spoke to me: "Turn thy wire holder perpendicular to the direction that the wire is running between your headphones and your audio device!"

DOH!!! I heeded the burning bush, and was rewarded with no more troubles forevermore...praise Jeee-sus!

Seriously, it's a very simple matter...the top part of this device which holds the wire, rotates. All you need to do is rotate it so that the headphone wire flow is blocked by this perpendicular positioning. Ta-da! No more complaints.

My only quibble with this clip is that it's a bit overpriced for what it is, a tiny cheap little plastic device that was probably made for 10 cents in some Third World sweatshop and will probably not last more than a year or so if that. $2-3 seems like a more reasonable price, especially if sold in a multi-pack. Oh well, paying closer to $5 for it isn't going to break the bank.

And it would be nice if it came in at least one or two other colors besides black, perhaps a high-visibility alternative would be nice.

But the bottom line is that it does the job---lets me work out in the gym without my headphone cable ever getting in the way again. (Without the clip, the cable would sometimes get caught by one of my thumbs while doing barbell upright rows or cable chest flies, and also bounce or otherwise annoy me during any quick movements like box jumps or even skipping rope.) Now I have it clipped to the shoulder of my sleeveless shirt with my MP3 player strapped to the top of my forearm close to the elbow, and I almost forget the cable's even there!

3lightweight but only helps some...  Apr 28, 2010
By Shannon H. Zilligen
It helps keeps your earplug cord slightly out of the way while running etc but the cord will still shift from time to time requiring you to re-adjust it. it isn't heavy so it doesn't weight the ear plugs down which is good.

5cord clothing clip  Mar 16, 2010
By S. Y. Goddard
This clip is ideal for use on any cord of a headset. Keeps the headset from being pulled away from the head if the cord is caught on something or if extended to it's max length. They should be standard equipment on any headset but are not always. They were a bit hard to locate and a bit pricey but none the less very handy to own. The quality is excellent and they work perfectly.
