Close to museum quality Apr 10, 2009
By Robert of Wisconsin The model is made from very realistic "heavy" non-plastic material. The coloration is also very realistic. The model easily stands on its two feet as it would in real life. The facial detail is superb, and the lower jaw moves. This model is a major step above the normal dinosaur toys. This is close to museum quality.

Fantastic! A+ Feb 26, 2009

I am an old dinosaur fan who grew up in the 70s (back then I was practically odd, nowadays with all the movies every kid on the block seems to have them). I have bought resin mounted models of dinosaurs on wooden stands by artists such as Mike Trcic and IMHO this toy dinosaur is worthy of standing right alongside them. The detailing is as good as it gets. I especially like the poseable mouth none of my resin models have this.
I wanted to note I saw the amazing Papo Allosaurus everyone has been talking about, and I agree it has to be one of the coolest dinosaur models I've ever seen. But I had them both in hand at a store, and I opted for this one instead. Its quite a bit larger than the Allosaurus model, less colorful but very cool. Its almost a shame to see kids banging around and playing with one of these.......its too good to be ruined! Hats off to the artists. I hope even the designers at Papo haven't been outsourced now (just like everywhere else) but if so, America, the Chinese have you beat hands down.

A terrific representation. Sep 02, 2008

Well, the paint job on Spinosaurus isn't as colorful as the other dinos in the fabulous Papo collection - but you can touch him up yourself, no problem. Overall, the design is fantastic - the mouth gets a lot of attention, and if you paint his sail bright and colorful, the toy stands out amongst the Papo line. Spino IS massive, and the face is really terrific; a ton of character. The paint job is a little bland, but the toy is still a superlative representation, nonetheless. The sheer scale and design quality are exceptional, as with all the Papo dinosaurs. You'll love it!!

PAPO makes the best dinos Jul 25, 2010
By R. Kleinmaier This toy has got to be the best Spinosaurus toy ever! I ordered it off of Tly Kid but they sent me a cheap Spino that;s only worth $5. Then I went over to a Boutique toy store near a gas station in Los Gatos and there it was, right when I walked in. It was the only dinosaur left and the lady said someone just came in and got all their Papo models for Dungeons and Dragons. I also saw some Papo models in Half Moon Bay. It's just that the detail on this toy is amazing! You can see all the way down its mouth and its teeth are just as well made! Its claws and toes are so black and positioned perfectly. Its jaws are really cool. You can open and close them and just doing that is fun. I also love the spikes along the sides of his spine. Oh and his green eyes are amazingly awesome! To Conclude this review I have to say Papo makes the best dinos!

Supurb dinosaur toy! Sep 17, 2009

I also saw the t-rex, allosaurus, and velociraptor in a store and opted for the Spinosaurus for a present for my son. He is a huge dinosaur lover and we have so many dinosaur toys, these are by far the best. They are so beautifully done, way better than the Carnegie models. They are also very durable, they can be played with not just looked at. We will definitely be getting the rest of these.
