Good not great Jan 23, 2009
By E. Dean It's very easy to use and it does work. Also it requires no electricity or batteries so it can be used overnight and during thunderstorms. It makes no noise whatsoever. The hose has a small diameter so, if you have to pump several inches of water, it's going to take a day or more. My electric pump is much faster, but I have to watch that one to make sure it doesn't run dry and burn up the motor. If I have several inches of water on my cover, I use the electric pump for an hour to get the majority of the water off, then I employ this siphon model and let it run unattended overnight. The hose on this model has a memory and maintains the kinks that were caused when it was packed in its shipping box. This restricts the flow a bit. It takes about 30 squeezes of the bulb to get the flow started. The suction head is weighted so it will submerge. This pump will not get you cover completely dry: it stops siphoning when about one inch of water remains in a puddle. However, the sun and the wind will usually take care of that last inch. Twenty odd dollars is a lot to pay for a piece of plastic, a cup of sand (for weight) and a short hose (about eight ft.) but, because it does work, I don't regret the purchase.

Advertised as Commercial Grade. I found the integrity of the product no better that the local Namco store, I would not buy this item again.
