Excellent program for the price. Dec 10, 2010
By Lance I have used and bought many different software programs throughout the year, including; Rosetta Stone (expensive), Visual Link Spanish (good, moderately priced). I have used internet site as: [...] (expensive), [...] (good and free) and [...] (good and free). For the price, you cannot beat this program. My Spanish comprehension and speech has increased dramatically. It is rated from beginner to advanced. Getting started with this program as to total beginner may be somewhat difficult. The lessons move fairly quickly. It has an excellent flash card system that works very well. It even keeps track of "stale" words that need to be reviewed. At this time, I am practicing exclusively with this program, but I feel it is important to practice other avenues as well. You can't go wrong. The cost was $26.44.

A lot for the money Sep 21, 2011

The audio Cd's are the best part of this package. The sound and lessons are of very high quality, you can get the printed dialogue online (the print is large, and thank god you will not need eyeglasses!).
The Software is also great, but you must get familiar will the many different things it can do: Example- I can export any spanish word from the software dialogue into the flashcard section (not hard to do, but still needs time to get familiar with it). It will export the word with sound, and translation. The reason I did not give this overall package five stars is because this program is not for beginners just starting out, for that matter it is not for anyone learning a computer for the first time.
Ok, let's be fair- you will not find a better product for the price with Beginner( I mean advance beginner), Intermediate, and Advance spanish learning in the same package which has a interactive dictionary(click on any spanish word in the software see the English meaning, grammar and more). Oh! don't forget the excellent audio CDs!

If you use the Mac OS stay away from this software Oct 01, 2011
By David Ziff I bought the Berlitz Spanish Premier software because it stated on the box that it's the Mac version. That may be true but the majority of the functionality and files are Windows only. I went through the files with a fine-tooth comb and most of them have Windows extensions and won't run with OS X. It took me about 45 minutes before I had seen enough. What a shame! I had such high expectations for this software. Also, the .mov files, at least the ones I had time to check on my iMac (running OS X 10.6.8), were either poor quality or wouldn't run at all. I finally erased my download from the DVD because I didn't want all those Windows files on my desktop. I also objected to the mislabeled incompatibility with OS X and wanted nothing further to do with it. However, I tried the car CDs in the box. They're quite valuable and well done. I'll definitely use them. But 4 CD's aren't worth the $39.95 I paid for the entire package. If anyone knows of any fully operational Mac software for learning Spanish please let me know.

Flashcards - Not for Complete Beginner Dec 25, 2011
By review Update: Be aware that Berlitz does NOT allow more than 1 software program on the same computer - doesn't matter that it is 2 different languages. I tried to install their Japanese Premier and it caused the Spanish Berlitz to crash and Neither worked. Reading reviews on an older version of this product, turns out this is a problem known to Berlitz, but obviously NOT fixed in their newer products. I contacted Berlitz about this problem but received no response.
2nd Update: Turns out Berlitz doesn't like any flashcard software on the same computer - I installed a program from Transparent that had Flashcards and Berlitz wanted to take it over. Transparent had no problem with Berlitz being on the same computer. So this is a Berlitz bug in their software.
--- This a flashcard software. The grammar is more like an overview.
It goes through the flashcards and then gives you quizes on them - both for English translation and Spanish (your on your own integrity for the reading parts English and Spanish - but the typing in parts it checks you on)
The Cds are really good and the speakers clear, which is really nice.
On the software by clicking the little turtle it slows down the speaker.
It is ok. Berlitz is good on their CDs but I personally would stay clear of their software from now on.
I did have to ask Berlitz for their link to find the manual for their CDs - and they quickly respond with the page - which was the page of All their audio scripts which I had to search through to try to find the right one. You can copy it to your computer and transfer into text, making it any font size you wish - it is lengthy for all the CDs. Or you can save and print for 1 CD at a time.
