Not that impressed... Feb 24, 2012
By RSands Really love the concept, will keep looking for one that works correctly, but unfortunately this one does not.
Why I don't like it: there is a little basket that the hot dogs go which goes in the slot...this basket has slots for the hot dogs (one would imagine such a thing). These slots are also circular (another well imagined idea). The problem is that the slots are not much bigger than the hot dog itself and as such, if you cook to the point where it swells, you WILL be taking the hot dog out in pieces because it will not come out that slot.
I like my dogs well done, not just warm and this not only causes me to cook them until they swell beyond the size of the slot that is holding them up, but I have to cook them twice (once of course does not cause the swelling, but they are not 'cooked' to me)
The buns NEVER really toast either, just on the tips, this also sucks.
I LIKE the unit, it does make the dogs tastier and keeps me from having to nuke them or spend the time cooking in a skillet. Just does do what it should, or what it says.
My daughters think it cooks them perfectly (but then again, they like to eat the dogs uncooked and cold... go figure)

quick hot dog for dinner Apr 09, 2012
By K. Baker This works well. Quick and easy and the kids think it is great. I wish you could make more than 2 dogs at a time. This will get used.

Cute Item that works with caveats May 21, 2012
By Rheg915 The item generally works overall but you need to be careful. If you have room temperature dogs, that is the best. Also, while the buns will toast, more likely they get burned because the bun toaster part is too small for even Wonder bread buns. Best just to use the hot dog part by itself because you will end up with burnt pieces of bread that are hard to get at to clean.

Pretty much garbage..... May 08, 2012

Owned a Hot Diggety Dogger for a few years. Functioned flawlessly. Truly an amazing machine.. Used it alot and it really started to look horrible. So I tossed it out and purchased a Nostalgia Hot dog cooker in an attemp to save some $$. I actually think they no longer make the one I had.... Anyway, its been in the closet for 2 months. I felt like eating healthy today so I broke that sucker out and set er up. First off, it just feels like a piece of cheap junk. Very light and all parts are thin plastic. Plugged it in and threw some dogs and buns in. Slots for both are def too small.. And I was not using oversize dogs or buns. The buns actually stuck to the sides of the warmer and I was unable to remove them in one piece. Both broke. parts of the bun continued to stick to the sides and burn up.. Dogs plumped a bit and were very difficult to remove.. Didnt really cook them evenly either. it worked, but def is not a "set it & forget it" cooker. I wouldnt leave the room while this was cooking anything.. If you can find a Hot Diggety Dogger, Id grab it.. 100 times better..If not, Id stay away from this unless you cant live without it..

Good idea in theory, but not a tasty dog in sight. Feb 29, 2012
By Jessi My husband received this as a Christmas gift this past year. He is a hot dog lover who would eat a package of them in one sitting if he had the chance. I thought it was a cute gift which he would be able to make himself a quick snack without messing up my kitchen. I did not have the issues that I have read others having in the reviews of the white model of the same brand [..] being that the hot dogs or buns did not fit correctly in the slots. I used the bun length Hatfield brand hot dogs and store brand buns. I put them in on setting 4 and waited. It popped up very quickly. Unfortunately, they were still cold . The buns did not look or feel toasted whatsoever. I put them back in for around round on the same setting. Hot Dogs were still lukewarm at best and there was a slight improvement on the buns. Round 3 seemed to do the trick. One of the buns was nicely toasted, while the other was slightly charred going along the side. I think this was due to being to close the the heating element. The hot dogs seemed decently warm but did not appear burned, so I served them for dinner to myself and my daughter. I was sorely disappointed at that first (and last) bite, let me tell you. The hot dog tasted like burnt plastic. Couldn't tell you how the bun tasted, as I still have the taste of the burned plastic hot dog lingering in my mouth now an hour later. For the same price, you can buy yourself a frying pan or toaster oven and make some tasty hot dogs in a few minutes time.
