Purchased as a Christmas Gift for elderly family member. I have bought these previously for my daughter. They are sensitive and turn on promptly during hours of limited visibility. They adequately light the exterior area around doorways and allow identification of what/who ever set them off. She also uses one in her utility room. They are very economical to operate - her utility light has not yet had the batteries replaced despite activation several times each day.

Small lights but still useful Nov 01, 2011

I bought these to use as portable lights for working out at a park after dark. we run a bootcamp) and they helped some but definitly need to be up high to get the full potential. We had them on the ground and they were ok, but not great. If you are going to mount them they would be much better!! But very easy to use and the batteries are still running on the first set. We switched to camping lanterns for the same price but much more light suited to our needs.
