 Fun book to read with or without the Tag Jan 01, 2009

This a great book to have in your library of Tag books. My son has several of the books for the Tag system and this is one of the favorites. He also happens to have this in the board book version, that he's had for several years. So when he got this for the Tag it made the story come to life, and his letter recognition got even better. I would recommend this book, because the story is in rhyme and has a nice beat, if they decide to dance while they are reading. In addition most of the pages have games for them to play that are all educational. Such as the first page, it may ask you to look for the "letter that spoke to B". If you know the story the first page starts off with "A told B and B told C, I'll meet you at the top of the coconut tree". This book is well worth the money, especially as a starter for the Tag system. It helps with letter recognition and learning to read.

"Book Maven"
You press the pen to the book and voila! The book speaks to you! My daughter loves this one the most, and she has a few of these. She has learned to read so much clearer since using the Tag system, because she uses it all the time.Her reading comprehension has improved alot too. I want to buy all of the Tag books for her.

This book is a classic as far as I'm concerned. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is due to the voice/reading. He reads the book almost like a song and pauses at certain times which sometimes makes my daughter think it is time to turn the page. Nothing horrible, but just wanted to mention it in the review! I would definitely still purchase the book, though! The whole TAG reading system is great!

Love this story, love the narrators voice. I'm pretty sure it is Gregory Hines, but can't confirm. The kids (4.5 yrs) LOVE this book and now have it memorized!

This is a favorite from when I was growing up. So I am very pleased to see it in tag form, my son loves his tag and all the books that go with it. He loves hearing the letters climb the tree. Awesome product. Considering giving as a gift for a nephew too.
