Internet Security For Apple Mar 12, 2011
By TNMTNMN
"Happy Grandpa"
As Apple Computers have become more popular attacks on them have increased. Although Apple provides some protection this product gives you increased security. Most people would not run a PC without security, so why risk problems on a Mac. This product includes firewall, malware protection, anti-phishing etc. I had no problems installing it on my computer.
I will update this review as I learn more... Jan 29, 2012
By Da Da Gary Just purchased this software to replace Norton. I was hoping this would be a more comprehensive program than Norton Anti-Virus, but it appears to not be.
First impressions:
1. I purchased "Internet Security Barrier" which was advertised as being a step up from the cheaper "VirusBarrier." But the program that installs is just "VirusBarrier X6" so save your money and buy the cheaper VirusBarrier X6. The "internet security barrier" is just some extra software that you are unlikely to need (anti-spam, parental control, and backup) because chances are you already have anti-spam from your email provider, parental controls, and backup via the Mac OS.
2. The program does not come ready to run - it requires sending them your registration on the website and then you have to wait for them to email you the activation code. They say it will take up to 10 minutes. This is ridiculous. You should be able to immediately scan your computer. The code just arrived - it did take 10 minutes to receive it.
3. It is advertised as a "2 user" license that protects both the Mac and Windows portions of the computer (for those running dual operating systems). The problem is it gives 1 license for the Windows protection and 2 licenses for the Mac protection. So save your money and purchase the version without the Windows protection because if you are buying this for 2 computers, you're still going to have to purchase something for your second Windows computer, and usually you can buy bulk anti-virus licenses for Windows cheaper than you can for Mac.
4. The software box I received differs from that pictured - apparently they have changed the Windows protection to a program called "Panda"
Now that I have it installed and scanning - on an up note - it does seem to scan as fast as Norton.

For Dial-up users,, it's a Godsend! Jan 01, 2011
By Michael P Gabriel Could never use an Internet Security program on my Apple because I am on dial-up. Ever try to download 80 MB of virus and other updates, using Dial UP.??? What a blessing INTEGO is...I can now download virus updates little by little, in groups! And if you think that hackers won't touch you as long as you use an Apple, it just time for you to wake up!!
