Done!!! The contractor knew what I wanted. My brother is still stuck!!! He bought something else. Mar 15, 2011
By Hector Swazo The software was easy to install. It opens fast and runs great on my new Windows 7 machine. The video tour got me up and running the same morning I opened the package. I was able to import new objects from the big appliance and furniture makers. I downloaded a nice new Frigidaire to see what it will look like in my kitchen and furniture for the eat-in area and dining room - very cool! Once I was satisfied with my creation, it gave me a cost estimate for the project. Also, I used the 3D and fly through views. This is a lot easier to use than the AutoCAD type tools my brother-in-law bought. We are done - have our new kitchen and laundry room, plus plans to buy new furniture for the dining room.

DOESN'T WORK ! Apr 30, 2011
By THESTORE At the moment, it is impossible to draw usable floor plan with this software, place furniture, doors or windows without problems and errors which prevent doing what I want to do. Currently in discussion with company re these problems, but doesn't look promising for a cure.

I love this software! Oct 28, 2011
By BP I had been using an old version of a competitor's home design software. This product is light-years ahead of that one in terms of its 3D capabilities and the number of features it has. The video tutorial that comes with it does a good job in showing you how to use it.
It reminds me of the software that the designers on HGTV use to present their ideas to clients. I'm using it to design my dream home and the houses for 21st Century Mayberry (Guru Habits) and Solotopia Town!

good idea but with problems May 02, 2012
By Suzanne M. Joyce I really looked forward to using 3D Home, Landscape and Deck but once I got thru the tutorial and started actually trying to design a landscape I discovered why there have been so many other bad reviews. There is definitelly a programming problem. I would try to place landscape areas outside my house dimensions and it kept jumping to a screen saying "invalid/not within lot boundaries". I have contacted customer service for tech support but have yet to receive a call or email...poor customer service. I will think long and hard before trying another product from this company.
Not that easy to work with. Apr 23, 2012
By Toppro I am not quite as thrilled with the program as I thought I would be. Designing a room or a complete house is not hard using the space plan feature. You just drag and drop rooms into the plan where you want them to be. When you click on arial view you can see the house from the outside. When you do a walk through you will see the rooms laid out the way you designed the blueprint.
A major problem you will have once you have designed a house is that trying to view it from the inside is very hard to control. You cannot spin around 360 degrees and see the entire room. It is very frustrating!
The landscape design function is not that easy especially when it comes to adding terrain features like hills or slopes. I haven't figured out how to do it with any real accuracy yet. There are some items I would have expected to be in the landscape options that are not. There are no railroad ties, rocks or stones to place in the landscape.
I have not worked that long with the program, having had it only about 5 days. I have worked with Google Sketchup, Bryce, Blender and other 3D programs that are much easier to work with in a 3D environment, so I am not a newbie at these type of programs.
For $13 it is worth the money if you just want to fool around creating house designs and playing with the interior design functions which are cool. If you are trying to replicate your own lawn design, I would say go to Google Earth and learn to use Sketchup for free.
