Beautiful kettle that heats quickly Mar 03, 2010

I bought this kettle a few months ago and use it daily. It heats water very quickly and is easy to pour without dripping water everywhere. The beautiful metallic red finish is what caught my eye in the first place, as well as the cute round shape. The only drawback of this product however, is that the finish chips rather easily. I accidentally hit the side of it with something I was putting away and the finish flaked off in that area, leaving a tiny silver spot in the middle. The lid edge also has a few very small spots where the finish came off too. I was able to mask them quite well with a touch of red permanent marker fortunately. Overall this is a great little kettle for the money and if you are a bit clumsy in the kitchen, make sure to keep a red permanent marker on hand!

Shipping was excellent and quick. These comments are solely a reflection of this product. I was amazed that when I got the kettle there were some design features that really should have been caught but not enought for me to return the item. 1. the knob on the lid is in the way when you reach for the handle. I.e. the picture of the hand holding it at the back of the handle. 2. on the water guage it is frosted on the back side, making it difficult but not impossible to see how much water you have added. 3. I had one before that was double walled so the water stayed hot. This one is not so the temperature drops rather quickly. Luckily it reheats quickly. Overall it does what I expect.

I bought this pot a few days ago. chose this one because the on/off switch seems sturdier than the other pots i read about. heats water VERY quickly, with no chemical taste or smell. parts don't feel cheap, handle stays cool, though outside of the pot gets hot (though not so hot it will burn you). plenty of clearance between handle and pot so you won't touch it when you grab the handle, and easy to read water level gauge. very satisfied so far.

I bought this kettle at target, not from Amazon, (who I adore, by the way) so this is purely a product review. We are tea drinkers, so we boil a kettle at least once a day, and after years, our last kettle died, so we went to pick out a new one. We LOVED the color and style of this kettle, and the speed it boiled the water. After a few weeks of use though, I noticed black flecks falling into my cup when I poured the water, and lo and behold, the inside bottom was flaking and corroded. After only about TWO MONTHS. Don't buy this! I recommend proctor and gamble's less expensive plastic kettle, which is what we had last time, and will now be buying again. It may not be stylish, but at least it LASTS!

I got this teapot for my mom who is 87 and nearly blind and she loves it and uses it at least twice a day. We had been using another teapot until it started to leak after 4 years and this one is perfect. Easy to use and fill, automatic off switch that is easy for a blind person to feel and lit until the water is ready. . . and then it pops up with a click and the light goes out. The cord measures 24 inches.
