Baking on holidays? If your oven isn't large enough for that turkey, the green bean casserole, and all of the other things you need to bake, this roaster can solve the problem. We used it for the first time on Thanksgiving and it solved the problem for us. It is easy to use, has more than enough room, is easy to clean and it works!In fact, it works so well, I have been using it instead of the oven--not just as an overflow appliance. I noticed on Amazon.com that it got higher reviews than some costlier alternatives I might have bought and am more than satisfied with this roaster.

Heating elements in the sides, not just the bottom. Got nice and hot. Inserts seem a little unstable, but haven't used them yet. Maybe they are better when they have some weight in them. Don't care much for the "serve through" lid, but can see where it could be useful. It's not Mom's 1950's Westinghouse, but I'm happy.

This makes the juciest turkeys, roasts, and pretty much anything else you would cook in a slow cooker, stew or Dutch oven and it takes half the time!! It's great for serving food after with it's warming trays. Excellent for entertaining. Perfect for traveling. I adore mine. It free's up my oven for other dishes. I highly recomend this item.

This oven is a good value. We needed to cook a ham and a turkey for Christmas dinner and have just one oven. The turkey was 19 lbs and the lid wouldn't quite seat on the cooker even though the turkey was within the weight parameters for this roaster. I had to weight the lid down to keep it shut. It took the same amount of time to cook as the oven and the turkey came out browned and beautiful. I do wish it was okay to use a brown in bag but it isn't recommended. I do recommend this roaster oven over the Oster I used to have. Also, the bonus buffet pans were great for serving with our large crowd!

Trying to get value by buying this package unit, backfired on me. However Amazon comes through and is having the defective, item picked up and giving me a full refund. Good reason to shop Amazon, they deliver and pickup at my front door.
This unit just does did have quality workmanship. On assembling the unit the lift and closing knob on the lift open portion of the lid for serving came off the stem that it was attached to, it has no set screw just a brad that was not properly seated. I'm sure with no quality control inspection on the finished product, or this would have not passed a blind inspector. This item probably was not made by Hamilton Beach, it is a made in China with their name on the finished product. So I decided to try using it to bake see how it performs, it does bake but the cookwell which is enamel-on-steel turned into some wild coloring in odd shape patterns, now I question the quality of the coating on the cookwell and quality of the entire unit. I certainly do not want to cook or serve food from the cookwell or buffet pans with this this enamel coating. I called HB and they offered to send me out another lid, but then called Amazon and they said that was a defective part and if I wanted to return it for full credit they would send UPS by to pickup at no cost to me. I'm ordering a new replacement from Amazon today but not another H-B and the new one with a Porcelain coated cookwell.
