2Not for large books!  Jun 10, 2008
By C. LaFave "si1ic0n_gh0st"
I purchased this product in the expectation that it was rather large (per the picture showing a big book resting on it). Unfortunately it only holds books at a depth of 1.5 inches, which is useless for the programming books, and other textbooks I own. Also the stand doesn't have a lock, it is instead combined with the page holders on the front to create a rather cumbersome mechanism. The lack of any real helpful adjustments also made this purchase a regretful one. If you are going to use books of any real thickness, look elsewhere as I know I just wasted $10.

4design matters, so does size  Jan 05, 2007
By David A. Baer
This is a very cool product made with just three pieces of stainless steel.

It folds up into a very small space and holds a small to medium sized book in a near-vertical, open-face position with a certain panache.

But if you're working from a very thick book, you need a different bookstand. The convenience disappears when you have to be finessing some of the pages of a large book onto the outside of the vertical 'placeholder' and the rest of them on the inside.

I like the idea. 'Shame they don't make a large size, too.

5Nice Product!  Oct 20, 2007
By Booklover Jerry
I like this. It holds books well. It is holding up well and gets the job done. It is more for books you put would put on a table or desk to read. Not for say taking on a bus to read a paperback. The flipklip is great for doing that. This one is more of a "I have to type from a textbook onto my computer" kind of thing. It holds all books but thick volumes like a dictionary. This one is great for holding a cookbook while you are stirring a pot, for learning to type and it holding the book open, for hardbacks that you just don't want to hold with your hands and have it hold it open for you, things like that.

5Ace little tabletop wire bookstand  Mar 08, 2007
By Jennifer "String Bean Jen"
This bookstand is what any student, researcher, or writer needs, but didn't know that they needed. I had always had trouble with quoting, analyzing, and reading from my books and articles while trying to type up papers. A bookstand was suggested to me, and lo! has it helped me greatly. Now I can open a book, or rest a journal article on it, looking at it while I type.

A nice bonus of this stand is that it is double sided. One side has grips that come up to hold open stiff books. The other side is more for laying something against it, like a magazine.

A helpful device that you often don't realize you need, you will be grateful at how much assistance this little doohickey gives you!

If you have thick text books, this is not the holder you want.
