Great Game! Jan 12, 2010
By Andrew Landgraf A demo of Fate originally came on my computer, and ever since then I was hooked (I finally caved in for $10 and bought the full version). I have now run the game on XP, Mac OS 10.6, and Vista ALL successfully (though on mac, you lose in-game purple text highlights).
What's included in the purchase: A jewel case with the CD of the game 'Fate' (not the sequel) inside.
About the Game: You are sent on a quest to rid the town of an evil villain. Throughout the game, you complete different quests gaining new strengths along the way. Once your final quest is complete, you can continue to play on indefinitely (I stopped at level 50, and assume it goes on forever)

This isn't the produce you want to buy. Feb 16, 2009
By Judah Buy Fate: Undiscovered Realms.
The original Fate game is also included on the disk with the sequel. This product contains only the first fate game, but for both windows and mac. If you want to know more about the game (which I found very enjoyable), check out the reviews listed under Fate

Good Game Short Life Span Jan 05, 2009
By Robert S. Bukowski Excellent game, Feels like it gets a little crazy at times and your dog companion can't help take the load off your character.
I would recommended it even if your looking to kill some time, thats why I got it and ended up wanting to play more then I had expected
Graphics are nothing special and the game play does get repetitive as you do similar quests going further in the dungeon.
Good game for the price.
Will not work and no help from Amazon Apr 19, 2012
By Suey Fate hybrid did not come in a "jewel case" but in a cardbaord box with the Fate cover taped on. Will not work without an unlock code and Amazon will not accept a return. Amazon offered little to no help really surprising and disappointing.
A Fun Little Fantasy Game Mar 12, 2012
By M. Thomas I purchased this game after I had tried out the demo version on my computer, and I can tell you honestly that this game is simple, fun, and just plain addicting. In 'Fate', you are a wandering hero who comes to the town of Grove in search of adventure. There is a Gate in the town of Grove that takes you down into unending dungeon levels that are crawling with monsters, treasure, loot, and sometimes a traveling salesman. Each level you go through has a random mix of various monsters, treasure, etc., so you never know what to expect on your journeys. This game is all about slaying monsters, completing quests, and eventually defeating a specific boss monster, all the while upgrading your hero's status so he/she can wear better armor, wield powerful weapons, and thus take down tougher enemies. Before you begin Fate, you choose between a male and female character, and from there, you customize their looks as far as face and hair-styles go. It's a simple customization process, so don't expect anything too in-depth like a cheekbone modifying option. After that, you choose between a pet dog and cat, who will accompany you on your quests to help you defeat monsters. After naming your characters, you begin the game. At the start of Fate, your character only has a hand-ax, 250 gold, and the clothes on their back. But after 1 simple trip into the 1st level of the dungeon, you can obtain quite a bit of loot and level up pretty fast. Every time you slay a monster and/or complete a quest, you gain experience, which in turn will level you up so you can get better and stronger. There are numerous weapon types to choose from, like swords, pikes, staffs, bows, crossbows, hammers, axes, etc. etc. and you will always stumble upon some new weapon the higher you level up. And each weapon will have its own random abilities, so you'll never run across the same weapon twice (well, rarely at any rate). Example: you can visit a town salesman who may be selling two of the same ax, but one ax may be slightly stronger than the other one, or one ax may have a fire ability while the other may have an electric ability. There are different goods for sale every time you reload the game, so there's always something new to gander at. Now in Fate, there are quite a few cheats you can perform that can greatly advance your character's status. There's one cheat, for example, that can give you lots of Gold all at once. BUT, the downside to doing this cheat means that everything else will be more expensive like weapons and armor. Prices go up when you get tons of Gold. There's another cheat that can cause your character to level up rapidly, and in no time at all you can climb to level 99 and become an extremely powerful warrior. For more cheat info, just Google 'Fate cheats' to get a complete list. Of course, when you try out the cheats in Fate, the game can get pretty old pretty fast. Instead of earning your way up the old fashioned way, the SLOW way, you end up obtaining all the Gold, all the Experience, all the whatever and so it's like you beat the game right off the bat. Example, it would be like if you starting out playing Super Mario 64 and the first level would be the final battle with Bowser. You end up skipping on all the good stuff in between. I'm not saying don't use the cheats, because the developers obviously put them there on purpose, but as a caution, don't get too greedy with them if you don't want to spoil any fun along the way.
Above all, Fate is a fun game that doesn't look that sharp on my 27 inch monitor, but it should look good on the smaller ones. Great background music and sound effects, fun dungeon crawling levels, and a seemingly endless journey that's addicting to play. 4/5 stars.
