TERRIBLE. DO NOT BUY. Jan 16, 2009
By Leanne Brooks

This product is TERRIBLE. I caution EVERYONE to stay as far away from this as they can. I bought it, used it to slice cheese and the motor literally stopped, even on the highest speed. It has a variable control speed dial and if you put it on the lowest setting it can go, it sounds like something is caught up in the blade and the engine is going to catch on fire--and that's without trying to cut anything.
I'm not kidding, this is a terrible product. I hope someone else doesn't make the mistake I did. Fortunately I was lucky in that the seller decided to give me my money back (I still had to pay for shipping to and from the seller which came to $30). At the time, I couldn't find any reviews for this product and I thought they couldn't possibly screw something like that up...at least for what I wanted to use it for.
If you /do/ buy this thing, you'll be sorry...mark my words.

Not worth the money Feb 14, 2009
By April L. Monticello Save your money. This machine lacks the power to cut even frozen bread let alone meat. I was very disappointed in it's performance.

Returning it back to the store tomorrow Mar 04, 2010
By Secret Shopper Just bought it home earlier this evening. Plugged it in to use. It is extremely loud. Cuts uneven and very awkward to use. Even though it was a good price (on clearance sale), we are taking it back to the store tomorrow (too late in the day today)

Deni Food Slicer Model 14150 Nov 13, 2010
By TM I recently bought a food dehydrator to make jerky. Then I realized that I would need to slice a lot of meat uniformly and thinly. I was in KMart for something total unrelated, when I noticed the Deni Food Slicer sitting in the isle. In was on sale for $49 and it was a rather nice looking device. "KMart. $49. This thing could be cheap", I thought. How bad can you mess up a slicer? Took it out the box, removed stickers, wiped it down. It really looked nice. Plugged it in and hit the "on" button. IT'S LOUD. Loud like a blender. And, for all of that volume, the blade is not spinning fast at all. I don't know how it's going to cut anything at that speed. It literal sounds like its going to die and/or bun-out. Totally disappointing, even for $49. I haven't cut one thing with it. I'm putting it back in the box and taking it right back to KMart. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product under any circumstance. Would give it 0 stars, but that's not an option. I would have a higher opinion if it didn't work at all. Then I could say it was defective. Nope, it's just that bad and I want my money back.

Don't buy one Dec 29, 2010

Purchased one a K-Mart for $49. Runs sooooo slow. but I would probably put up with that, but when I removed the blade to clean it, there was, looks like a broke place, in the plastic shield at the bottom, behind the blade, that would surely let meat, juice or vegetable particles fall behind the shield. If it is not broke, which I found several to be like that, it is truly a faulty design. I wouldn't keep if it was $5. Imagine how stinky this would soon get.
