I ordered the 1050 Chauvet Fog machine, and this 1100 model came instead? I was pissed because the one I ordered looks way better with a sleek silver coating. After bitching on the phone to customer service (Parts-Express was the dealer), I just decided to keep this 1100 Model and use it.
And I must say, there's nothing wrong with it. It warmed up in about two minutes (they say it takes 5 min), and after holding down the button for 3 seconds my room was THICK with fog. The remote works fine, and has a decent sized cord (about 8 feet). The blue LED is a cool feature as it lights up the fog juice letting you see the fluid level and also lets people see the unit in the dark... hopefully keeping them from tripping.
I've ONLY used this unit for one night, so I cannot say how it preforms over the years. But as of that one night, I'll give it 5 stars.

Good Machine, lots of smoke, careful not to let it run dry Dec 16, 2010

I got this for a party and it works great. The laser lights show up very well and the machine can put out alot of smoke. I was concerned that my 20 X 15 foot room would be too big for it, but after about 5 minutes of blowning smoek that concern was long gone, I had to pull the fire alarm batteries and open a window because the fog was way thick and my entire upstairs (20 x 60) was fogged out. I only used Chauvet fog juice, I bought a gallon thinking it was going to use it fast but that is not the case. I think a quart or 1/2 gallon would be plenty to start with. It did not even use the entire contents of the tank for the evening. It takes about 5 minutes for the element to get hot enough for it to start blowing smoke but after that the recovery time is about 45-90 seconds.
Some points to note:
DO NOT let the machine run dry or the pump will not be able to draw the fog juice and you will need to take apart the machine and prime the pump by drawing the liquid up via a vacuum (ie your mouth)
It will produce enough smoke that your fire alarm will go off. Period.
The nozzle does get Very hot so don't let little kids touch it.
Unless you are putting on a professional concert you would be hard pressed to be disappointed in this machine.

This thing is crazy. We decided to test it out about a month before Halloween. We held down the button and counted about 10 seconds. The fog literally covered out 1100 sq ft house. We ended up calling the fire department to let them know our house was not on fire, and to disregard any calls they got!
****UPDATE**** A year later this fog machine ceased working. Very disappointed. I have dropped this rating from a 5 to a 2. It was great while it lasted, but a year and only used for one occasion is not enough to justify the price.

Works as stated, however it is unclear which type of fog to use. There are two types of fog you can use but each machine is made to handle either LOW GROUND FOG or REGULAR FOG LIQUID (high fog) so before you purchase find out what fog your machine is made to produce, low or high. Although this is a indoor use only fogger, I used this machine at a football game and the fog i used was REGULAR FOG LIQUID and the machine worked as advertised. I would assume that some of the problems people are having is because they have not researched what type of fog there machine was designed for. The manual does not state what fog this machine is designed for and i would suggest calling the company before purchasing to get the details if you want a specific type fog effect. Next week (after i call the Chauvet) i will try the low ground fog and i will give another review. As for the Friday night outdoor football game it worked well but i would like to see the fog hang around a little longer. The machine had great control of how much and when i wanted to add more fog. Good luck with yours.

I bought two of the Hurricane 1100 foggers. The first problem that I had was they do not hook up with a DMX system. However they were SUPPOSED to come with two remotes as advertised, they did not. I called the company that I purchased them from and though they said they would investigate and get back to me, I did not receive a response. It does not make a difference now since within a month both foggers are not working (no fog). I called Chauvet left a message with a call back number, no one called. FYI, I only use the BEST fog juice. I would not recommend these to anyone.
