I deliberated for some time thinking this stand might be overkill and my first sight seemed to confirm it, but it is perfect if the tree is even 12 feet or more. It could not be easier to use and the tree will be as stable as if it was still in the ground. We use it on a stone tile floor so a little duct tape added under the contact surfaces protects the floor. Attach the centre pot first and raise the tree into position then add the extensions when the tree is upright. Don't look any further than this stand if you have a good size tree.

After our 14' tree broke 2 stands, we thought a long term investment in a quality tree stand was necessary. Although the price is outside the range of what we had expected to spend ($350 compared to the $30 stands that broke which is the reason for only 4 stars and not 5), the stand was large enough for the 10" diameter trunk and still held 4 gallons of water (which needed to be refilled only once a day instead of 3 times a day.) The stand is solid and heavy duty and we definitely felt no risk of the tree falling over at any time during the holidays. Certainly would recommend it for anyone who is looking for a tree in the 15' range.
